JUNE Update

If you were to sit down, and write a list of important character traits you want your child to posses, what would they be? Right at the top of your list, I imagine, would be respect, honour and honesty. I know that I pray for these in the life of my boys as they grow.

We don't just seek to teach your kids the Bible at Hillsong Kids but help them to apply it, even while they are at Church on the weekends... so that hopefully they take the lesson back home with them.

The Heart for the House offering is a BRILLIANT opportunity to highlight the need for a follower of Jesus to be generous. Because, as we tell them during our weekend services it's not about the amount that you give but the attitude in which you give!

HEY - did you know, we get as much time with your kids during Kidsong World than the rest of the year combined. So please consider getting your kids along to this significant event!

• Hillsong Foundation Supper: Thursday 2 June, 7:30pm at Hills, City, South West and Brisbane Campuses. 
• Mega Prayer Night: Tuesday 7 June, 7:30pm in the Hills Convention Centre & Main Auditorium in Brisbane. These nights are always spiritually significant nights in the life of our church. We have so much ahead of us right now and we believe that there is great power in gathering the church together to pray. Join us for a great night.
• Heart for the House Weekend: 24-26 June, Make sure you collect your blue giving box from Hillsong Kids and bring it back on Heart for the House weekend. Every year, your generosity is what makes all the difference and allows us to take a giant leap forward as we continue to build the local church and reach people with the message of Jesus.
• Heart & Soul Night: On Tuesday 28th (Sydney & Brisbane), at 7:30pm we have our Heart + Soul Night (LVN). These are extremely important nights to Pastor Brian and to us as a church. We cannot underestimate what happens when the soul of our church gathers from across the city. Unity commands a blessing. So bring your family and friends out. Great kids programs available!

Meet A Family

Every month we are going to feature a great Church family, this month it's the McGuire family from our Brisbane Campus.

What is a family tradition your family has?
We love to do theme nights with the girls - like music nights singing Australian pioneering or gospel songs, game & theatre nights and puzzle nights that has everyone involved having great fun.

What's the best thing about the Brisbane Campus?
It’s the incredible people who are Hillsong. It’s the amazing leaders in kids, the talented musicians, the teaching from our awesome Pastors.  In each specific area of the church we are touched by the amazing willingness by everyone to give, care and share their love for Jesus. Thank God for a wonderful church family.

Leading up to Our Heart for the House offering this year what miracles are your family believing for?
We are believing in a fresh new chapter in our lives, a new business venture and restoration in the lives of our wider family who have been affected by natural disasters.  God has blessed us through Hillsong and believe that the Lord is doing amazing things in the kids ministry – even greater things are yet to come.  We stand in awe of our mighty God who knows all our needs.  

Something Helpful

Coming up soon is our Heart for the House offering. Children can collect a blue Heart for the House giving box from Hillsong Kids on the weekend.

Here are some tips for getting the whole family involved:

- Give children some tasks to do around the home to raise money for their offering; Make the bed, set the table, feed the pets, fold the washing or doing the dishes.

- Pray together for our "House" Hillsong Church, pray for Brian and Bobbie, the pastors and leaders and the people of our church family and wider community.

- Encourage children to set a faith goal for their giving. This will give them a target to work towards as they learn generosity through their offering.

- Maybe you could decide as a family to go without a certain treat for a few weeks, to give the money saved to the Heart for the House offering.

- Discuss with the children ideas they have for their giving, it might surprise you what they come up with! 

- Sit together as a family and lay out a large sheet of paper, write "I HAVE A HEART FOR THE HOUSE BECAUSE..." in the centre and then see how many things you can write down about what you love about your church.
